Description :
Science Lab Supplies is a physics lab equipment manufacturer and exporter based in Jining City, Shandong Province, China, supplying the GM Tube Test Source as part of our Atoms and Nuclei range for schools, colleges and STEM training institutes across China and worldwide.
It comprises a 300 ±5 mg potassium chloride, in a 2 x ⌀13 mm cavity, sealed with clear film of a specified thickness and density.
This test source is used to test the β-efficiency of GM tubes.
It should be stored away from sunlight as the UV will degrade the plastic.
This is naturally radioactive due to the presence of 0.0117 % of potassium-40, which has a mean β energy of 560.2 keV.
Institutions sourcing atoms and nuclei lab equipment for their physics laboratories use the GM Tube Test Source to support hands-on experimentation aligned with school and college syllabi. As part of a broader STEM lab apparatus setup, it complements other Atoms and Nuclei range instruments to build a complete teaching kit for a physics department.
Quality control checks are carried out before dispatch to confirm the GM Tube Test Source meets stated specifications, helping schools and colleges standardise equipment quality across multiple laboratory setups.
